Selingan Turtle Island, located about 40 kilometers north of Sandakan in Sabah, Malaysia, is the largest of three islands that make up the Turtle Islands Park. It is renowned for its vital role in the conservation of endangered green and hawksbill sea turtles. The island serves as a protected nesting site where turtles come ashore year-round to lay their eggs. Managed by Sabah Parks, Selingan offers visitors a unique opportunity to witness turtle landings and hatchling releases in a controlled, eco-conscious environment. With limited accommodation and visitor numbers, the island emphasizes sustainability and conservation education, making it a significant site for marine biodiversity preservation in Southeast Asia.

DAY 01 - SANDAKAN / TURTLE ISLAND (LUNCH / DINNER)
Pick up from hotel, transfer to Jetty for a boat ride to Selingan Turtle Island. This Journey by motorised boat will take about 1 hour. After lunch, grab your mask, fins and snorkel and head to the beach where you can find lots of juvenille marine life. Or, you can choose to relax or sun bathing by the beach. Before dinner, treat yourself to a slide show featuring information of the turtle island park and turtles. After dinner, standby at the Cafeteria. Wait for Park Ranger’s signal before proceed in a small group to the egg-laying site to witness the mother turtle laying eggs, transferring of eggs to the hatchery and releasing of hatchling to the sea. Stay overnight at Selingan Island Chalet.

DAY 02: TURTLE ISLAND (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
Breakfast and enjoy free and easy time at Island or you can choose to relax and sun bathing by the beach. Before dinner, treat yourself to a slide show featuring information of the turtle island park and turtles. After dinner, standby at the Cafeteria. Wait for Park Ranger’s signal before proceed in a small group to the egg-laying site to witness the mother turtle laying eggs, transferring of eggs to the hatchery and releasing of htchlings to the sea. Stay overnight at Selingan Island Chalet.

DAY 03: TURTLE ISLAND / SANDAKAN (BREAKFAST)
0600hrs, wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast at 0630hrs. By 0700hrs, depart the Island and return to mainland.
